Her Spice Girls bandmate Mel B might be on the one dubbed Scary Spice, but it turns out Victoria Beckham is not to be messed with either – especially when it comes to her man.
The fashion designer once admitted to socking her then-fiancé David Beckham after he was accused of cheating with another woman while she was pregnant with their first-born, Brooklyn, 21.
VB saw red when the footballer called her to say he’d been accused of kissing someone else while the Spice Girls were away on tour.
And when their paths next crossed, Victoria described how she, “went straight up to him and just swung at him, punched him.”
“I hadn’t planned it. I hadn’t punched anybody before. Just instinct,” she wrote in her 2001 autobiography Learning To Fly.
“I just felt angry and hurt.”
Posh was so distraught that she suffered suicidal thoughts and wrote that David – who continued to protest his innocence – felt the same.
They fled to Lake Como in Italy to work things out, and Victoria eventually decided to believe David and married him four months after Brooklyn’s birth on July 4, 1999.
The £1.5million ceremony at Luttrellstown Castle near Dublin featured actual thrones, but despite the decadence, fellow Spice Girl Mel B said it was obvious that Posh and Becks were the real deal.
“From day one that was it. You could see it in both of their eyes,” she previously told The Sun’s Fabulous magazine.
“Their wedding day was perfect. I remember looking at them and thinking these two would be unbreakable. It wasn’t just that they were besotted with each other, it was the fact they could make each other laugh.
“Vicky is one of the funniest women on the planet and she is completely herself when she’s with him. They’ve grown up together, they know each other inside out, they’ve got through good times and bad times and that’s a real relationship.”
However, their marriage would be shaken to the core again in 2004 when David’s former PA Rebecca Loos claimed they had an affair while he was playing for Real Madrid – claims both he and Victoria vehemently denied.
And in June 2018, speculation appeared on social media, claiming David and Victoria were planning to divorce and were due to issue a statement.
However, their respective spokesperson vehemently shut down the allegations, insisting: “There is no statement due, no divorce, and a lot of Chinese whispers and fake social media news. This is all very bizarre and an embarrassing waste of time.”
Days later, the couple put on a public show of unity at a Men’s London Fashion Week even and posed for pictures holding hands and laughing together, proving their marriage was rock solid.
But a few months later, the rumours were fuelled again when David was absent from the Beckham family’s front cover of Vogue magazine.
Victoria was joined by their four children for the October 2018 issue, although David did make an appearance on a special subscriber-only edition.
And that month, Victoria was said to be ‘in tears’ after finding out David had given a candid interview about their marriage with Australian TV show The Sunday Project.

The former Spice Girl was apparently unimpressed when the retired footballer admitted their relationship was ‘difficult’.
He said: “To have been married for the amount of time that we have, it’s always hard work. It becomes a little more complicated.
“You make difficult situations, like travelling away, being away from each other – you make it work.”
However, the have made it work and will celebrate 21 years of marriage later this year.
